If you`ve followed the workflow stages explained in this part of our website, you`ve probably met me before... The reason for that is simple: at QT, the line between Engineering and Desktop Publishing (DTP) is a thin one – and often the two are intertwined. That is why several of my team members are trained in both practices.
The DTP Dept. is responsible for making the documents in the new language as graphically similar as possible to those in the original one, while still catering for all the linguistic requirements of the new language.
The DTP personnel are all seasoned graphic designers who are experienced in all leading graphics applications (such as InDesign,

FrameMaker, Photoshop, Flash, MS Office) as well as in esoteric software sometimes required by specific customers. They can prepare the highest quality deliverables even if the original was not provided by the customer, and take part in both the linguistic editing and QA stages to make sure that the document looks as it should in the target language. Additionally, they prepare the documents for print or for web distribution and are able to communicate with IT personnel as well as printing presses in order provide the highest quality product in the correct format. In short, they are your interface with the look of your product.
